Sonya Moore from Te Awamutu originally thought she might have won a meat pack when she received an email asking her to get in touch with Mad Butcher operations manager Dan Adams about a competition she had entered. So she was blown away to learn she had instead taken out the big prize - a $40,000 Harley Davidson. Mrs Moore entered the Mad Butcher competition aimed at promoting the company’s new website in December. She beat more than 19,000 other entrants to win the new bike and says she is now in the market for a new set of leathers. “I used to ride with a friend of mine. We would go all around New Zealand,” she says. “The bike is going to be well looked after.” She says the bike - bought by Mad Butcher CEO Michael Morton at a fundraising auction for Starship children’s hospital - is “beautiful”. “It’s absolutely gorgeous. I love Harleys, it was a dream have one, we used to joke about it.” Mr Adams says the competition was a great success for the company’s new website www.madbutcher.co.nz.
