The annual Auckland Teddy Bears Picnic has found a new home, a new date and a new charity. After entertaining families for the past 28 years it s the longest running event of its kind in the country. It started in Cornwall Park and then spent more than 20 years at the Auckland Domain. Now it s heading to Western Springs on December 5. Free activities range from stage shows and strolling performers to musicians and magicians. The Funky Monkeys, Ronald McDonald, the Popsicle Band and Alan Watson the Magician all make an appearance. Fairy Clare is back with her flock of fairies and pixies and strolling performers will be all dressed up as wizards, clowns and children s characters. The picnic runs from 11am to 4pm with the teddy bears parade at 12.30pm. Funds raised on the day will go to Kids Can.
